Pilot project

Today we are proposing a pilot project: the installation of our first artificial reef at the base of a wind turbines at sea

Scientific monitoring

A scientific monitoring will take place to test the effects of the artificial reef on marine organisms over time

The development of biodiversity

The Enereef artificial reef is optimised to enhance biodiversity: a large number of marine species will find a refuge, a feeding area and will reproduce there

The increase in density of a large number of marine species

By creating a habitat that mimics natural reefs, Enereef will generate an increase in the number of individuals per species and in particular, an increase in the stocks of crustaceans, molluscs and fish

The spillover effect all around the area

Over time, fish density will increase so that a spillover effect will be generated, allowing fishermen to access more sustainable fishing around the wind farm

The increased fishermen's approval for offshore wind turbines

This project will enable fishing communities to see crustaceans, molluscs and fish stocks increase through habitat improvement. This will facilitate consultation around offshore wind projects
